OT: Thunderbird

Anyone else having problems with Thunderbird?
I just lost 2 days of work recording location sound for a film because TBird couldn't\wouldn't get a reply back to Craigs List saying I would take the job.
Sorry, the posting you're trying to respond to via the anonymous craigslist address xyz etc@gigs.craigslist.org has expired or has been deleted. Craigslist does not forward messages for expired or deleted postings.
Turns out the account had not expired so some other guy/gal got the job.
The posting outfit was not very professional in that they did not give me any alternative contact address, so I was probably well shot of it. But still... Is this going to happen again? Guess I'll find out.
Anyone got any other suggestions apart from crossing my fingers?

That's a craigslist response, not Thunderbird.
Thunderbird is a mail client, not a server, and as such is incapable of such a thing.

Yep, most likely you would have seen exactly the same thing with any email client.

Thanks guys, always good to get independent views.
I'll stick with TBird.
I think they must be a bunch of amateurs that I'm well shot of regardless of what they pay.

It's Craigs List which means you'll be lucky to be fed :(

Save yourself the aggravation -- don't respond to blind employment ads on CL.

I have a success ratio of around 5% on CL. But those were real good jobs with pro crews. I learned a whole bunch and made good contacts. Some of them also paid well which was a bonus!
And yes I'm VERY carefull not to give out hard details until I have established their credentials.
CL is the best source of film work in these parts if you are not in either of the unions, you just have to be careful.
I'm glad it's not Tbird that was at fault.
