Here's a great article about ariport travel, which although written for still photographers, absolutely applies to DV and video shooters.

That's what I believe to be the case, migh vary from country to country but in the worst case scenario only boarding pass and passport.
It's so bad there's one staged photo around of everyone boarding a plane in the buff.
They said they needed to do a cavity check, so I opened my mouth........

General aviation is getting more and more attractive. There are some restrictions
you must follow, mainly driving into the hanger areas, but generally no hassles.
We spent extra time deciding on Pelican cases that could be stowed but now.....
In the US you can still take the cam and such, however if you don't include Fed Ex in your budgets DO include an insurance that covers airline theft/loss of any kind, not that we should really need to be told that, but still - it never hurts to have a reminder :).
