OT: Underwater sound FX? Bubble video FX?

I'm hoping to edit a voice over for a talking goldfish in a bowl (animated with voice-sync in Poser). It will say,

"That water theory sounds awfully metaphysical to me, but I'm an open-minded type of fish. All I'm asking before I believe in water is: Just show me some evidence."

Question: Is there a way in which I can make it sound a bit "underwater"? Maybe even a gurgling sound fx?

Also: How can I add a video FX to create bubbles coming from the fish mouth during speech? I have Particle Illusion, but haven't played with it much . . . a possibility?

Hello Larry,
my first response is you need to get a life... how boring can you be to point a big expensive HD Sony camera at a goldfish bowl...? LOL just kidding you know ...

Not sure about the bubbles out of the mouth ... particle illusion does sound like it might work...

You could record the sound of blowing through a straw into some water at the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, no? The bigger the container the deeper (no pun intended), the more bass (no pun intended here either) the sound will be/have, no? Adjust the volume once you get it on the timeline to suit the narration ...

Until that time... Earl J.

Some 100 years ago or so when I was in elementary school, a Disney artist did an assembly. He talked about Pinochio being swallowed by the whale, and how the sound was done. The characters' underwater bubbling voices were done by moving a horizontal finger lengthwise between the lips rapidly while talking. To this day I use it on the phone to friends during intense rain. "We're underwater over here...."

That's a great tip! I just tried it myself and I think it would work. Thanks so much.
