OT (?): Using old software after buying new

Hi -

I was a Screenblast Movie Studio user before buying (NOT upgrading but a whole new purchse) Vegas6+DVD. Am I allowed to remove the old softare (not the .VF files, just the programs) and either install it on another computer or give it to a friend and have them legally install it? (Remember, the activation is via the web so Sony will know it is being used on another computer).

Thanks.

Bruce

Since it's a whole new purchase you have two independant usage licenses. So whether you got Vegas 6+DVD or not doesn't even apply in this situation; your Movie Studio license is still alive and kickin'. You can transfer or sell it as you wish. Simply inform SONY that you are transferring it and have the new user contact them as well. The new user will be given a new serial number and your current serial number will be deactivated.

If you had upgraded rather than made a new purchase, the same rules would still apply except that the new user wouldn't be able to use the serial number to qualify for an upgrade discount.
