OT: Vegas 7 Training options

Trying to figure out the best solution for self study to understand Vegas 7 better - I have the SONY Seminar Vegas Training DVD but it really didn't do much for me - it seems to be for Vegas 6 and not quite sure how much translated over to V7 - I understood what it teaches just from hands on work.

What about the VASST Absolute Training for Vegas series??? What are the first three like? I'm looking for more advanced information on editing in Vegas. The volume four Color Correcting in Sony Vegas DVD looks interesting and I'm sure I could benefit from that one, as well as the Noise Reduction in Sony Vegas DVD, but not sure about the first three.

Is the information presented applicable to V7?

Hello Cliff. I do not own the VASST ATS for Vegas, so, I can't answer your question as to whether or not these apply to VV7, but I can tell you that I have been very pleased with every instructional product that I have purchased from VASST. They make great products for us all to become better at what we do from beginner to advanced users. I have seen posts from happy customers about the color correcting dvd too. Derek

I just recently purchased Vegas 7 (switching from other NLEs) and it came with VASST Absolute Training for Vegas volumes 1-3. I'm not a professional, but I've been doing video editing for over 5 years (Ulead MediaStudioPro and Pinnacle Studio) and I actually got quite a bit out of the VASST videos. They are extremely well-done and easy to follow. They really help you understand the differences in Vegas from other NLEs and can get you up-to-speed with Vegas fairly quickly. As you mentioned, the more advanced video tutorials (i.e., color correction) are in other volumes. However, I can honestly say that there are great tips in the beginning tutorials that I would have really struggled to find on my own (or maybe never). Because Vegas is "different" from your other NLEs, I would definitely recommend these.

I have used the VASST too, and I really like them, and the guys you see in the DVD's hang out here too and are helping people out a lot also.
