AT&T offers refurbished iPhones for $99 through 12/31
I've had one for several months, and I believe it is the only smartphone that is actually nice to use for web browsing and e-mail (handles multiple web/POP3/etc. accounts easily).
I have posted here many times while riding in a car, even out in the boonies.
The GPS (with full traffic info for major urban highways in the U.S. and the U.K.) is beyond great also, very well thought through, even with optional bus and walking directions (those two are in beta currently)
And you haven't lived until you've used voice-operated Google. Just speak any question into the iPhone and get the answer pronto. Only on the iPhone.
And while out driving, you can say for example "Filmtools Burbank" and immediately see their location on an interactive Google map, with step-by-step directions only a click away, and access their web site to make sure they're open on Saturdays (they are!).
Even the actual phone is great, with voice dialing (using free app), and excellent voice quality in and out (the older, pre-3G was not great, but the new one rocks).
Lots more, I have to say this is one of the top 3 products I have been most happy with in my entire lifetime.
And it runs UNIX, which as you know stands for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. :O)
The refurb box may say "90 days warranty or "1 year warranty." If the former, fax your AT&T receipt to Apple for a complimentary extension to 1 year, google for details.
