You can do this yourself right now.

There are hordes of guides online for how to convert/conform your video for an iPod. There are also several tools that automate this.

Here's one now

The iPod will play H.264 (MPEG-4). A little googling will turn up a LOT of info on this subject.

I was looking for a single standard to convert my vidoe too that would play on PSP, Ipod and most video enabled mobile phones.

What could catch all those formats?

M4V otherwise known as mpeg4 video works for just about everything now including Linux podcast catchers.

But nothing plays on everything. Sorry. Not yet.
