Anyone deal with the VideoGuys before?
I bought Vegas 7 Pro with a free update to Vegas8 Pro.
www.videoguys.com
I want to start programming from Vegas 8 but they dont
seem to know how the upgrade will occur from Sony (they said
on the phone) Are these guys on the up and up?

I have never dealt with them before and wonder if I should just
ask for a refund.

VideoGuys are in the same category as B & H.
That is, they can definitely be trusted.
I'd call them back again and, if you don't get the answer you want, ask to speak to someone who does know.

They and/or someone using the username "VideoGuys" posted a thread stating the exact deal you got a few days before VP8 came out. I've only been at this forum for about a year and a half, so I don't know all the members and who they actually are.

In either case, I did read their page about that particular deal back then, so they should stand by it -- as well as clarify to you how to upgrade to VP8.

Call Sony customer service. They have a policy to provide a free upgrade for a purchas of an older version with in +- 30 days. This what I did and rec the free downloade of V8..

I actually got something sent the whole way to Denmark from these Guys and the service was outstanding good.

I would mail them.

Talk to Sony. Show them you bought Vegas 7 within a month of Vegas 8 coming out. They should take care of you.

Meanwhile, you can start you editing in 7 and later just open the .veg in 8. I wouldn't add any effects or titles in 7 and it should work fine.

Once you save the .veg in Vegas 8 you can't go back however.
