Crafty,

Thanks as always for flagging these deals. Wow - we've hit about $2 a gig on those monster drives....

If you are interested in this deal, please be advised that OfficeMax is notorious for running out of stock and not getting more in until after the rebate has expired. So make sure it is in stock and not backordered. If it is backordered, cancel the order.

actually I think we hit 50 cents per gig on this monster drives.

Over memorial day weekend Comp USA had a deal on a Maxtor 250 gig for $120 with no mail in rebates. All rebates were instant at the register. That was the best deal I've gotten so far.

7200 RPM and 8 meg buffer.

A word of warning: A few of the rebates I have seen lately are pulling a fast one.

if you are not watching, you may get caught when they have multiple things to fill out. On one page, they permit a PO Box, on the other, they do NOT permit a PO Box. If you are like me and actually have a PO Box, you don't think anything of it and put the PO Box on all pages.

And, you may completely miss out on one of the parts of your rebate. It is usually the BIG part, too. Best Buy tried this on me, recently. A call to the FTC straightened it out, but otherwise they were going to deny me my $100 and only honor the $20 part. Yes, I should have been more careful, but many of us are just not THAT careful.

should've hit this earlier in the week, I guess. When I go there they only list 6 drives, largest being 160 gb. Ah, maybe next time...
