My HP dv2000 laptop has a built-in webcam, which is functional in instant messaging programs as well as Vegas. While I can use the webcam to create movies in Vegas, I'm curious about something else.

I've been looking at CyberLink Youcam since it is pre-installed on a new laptop a family member has. Now for the questions:

Does anyone know if CyberLink Youcam is compatible with any/all built-in webcams? Per their web site, the list of compatible devices has not been updated since November 2007. I did, however, send them an email.

Next, if this program is compatible with the laptop and Vegas, does anyone know if I can use the webcam to record with the avatars and other special effects and then save that as a movie to be used in Vegas?

The program seems to get pretty good reviews, but I'm always skeptical of purchasing until I have some feedback. Unfortunately, I'm not finding a lot of individual user feedback on this program. Am hoping someone here has some feedback.
