OT: What is the best music manager?

Jøran Toresen wrote on 9/14/2006, 4:17 PM

I want to copy my CD collection to my PC, using the FLAC format. For this purpose, I use Easy CD & DA extractor. My problem is mainly related to how I can use a music manager to organize my CD’s (artist, CD name, track name and so on). Therefore I have been testing the music manager ‘Media Monkey ‘ the last couple of days. I think it’s a great application for what I want to accomplish.

Questions:

1. Is there a better lossless audio format than FLAC?
2. Is there a better music manager than Media Monkey? And if so, why?

Besides this, I wish that Vegas and Sound Forge could open and save FLAC files.

The best music manager? Brian Epstein?

Seriously though, although not entirely lossless, wma is great for audio and is handled very well by Vegas and Sound Forge. You can boost the resolution to a level where lossless or not becomes mere theory.

Very funny Torsie!

OK, I can see the option for using . .. Media Manager here?

I'm sooooo into MM that I wouldn't even think of using something else to Manage my media.

Check out Helium Music Manager.

I use Media Monkey and find it just about perfect, but I also like Helium's interface. Can't really speak to all it's functions or usefulness cause I've only played with it a little.

I also use Media Monkey and find it very good. And it's free. I defected from Musicmatch Jukebox after it wouldn't play nice with Directory Opus.
