I'm just being curious here, but has anyone made any new contacts from the map yet? I was quite surprised to find so many Vegas users so close to me, and most of them aren't even New York City.

Some of our premiere friends get a good laugh from this map - just under 300 users wordlwide??? Could we please get some figures about copies sold of Vegas 4 up to now? I like Vegas very much and would use it even if I were the only one, but this map doesn't help to convince anyone.

You'll have to show this map to your marketing folks ... I'm betting *somebody* is making movies in South America, Africa, Asia and the former Soviet Union -- they're just not using Vegas yet. Invite them to the party!

AlexB: is there a "Premiere users worldwide" map anywhere? I wonder how many of their users would bother putting themselves on it. Maybe i should offer to set one up for them so they could see how few do. I've got a map going for my chatroom which has about 1450 users, but only 70 people have posted on the map so far.

The one statistic i did hear was that Vegas 4 sold over 150,000 licenses during it's initial launch. Someone also mentioned that Vegas 3 had about 80,000 users. I'm sure SonicFoundry could offer more accurate numbers if they wanted to.

I don't usually record the numbers I hear, and wouldn't be allow to repeat them if I did, but the numbers in Chienworks' post are surely closer than the pushpin count of 300 <g>.
