If you were trying to watch trailers at Quicktime.com, I had that problem, too, a little bit ago. It was only temporary.

If that wasn't it, where are the videos you're trying to watch?

What, you mean Google Videos? They don't use Quicktime -- they use Flash video. Try installing Adobe Flash Player.

It's not uncommon to get a Quicktime "Q" icon when you're missing some other plug-in -- possibly because the browser just hasn't been told yet what program needs to be used.

I definitely have Flash installed, and I still get " the question mark ".

This happens to me whenever I have my popup block enabled. Once I disable it, and refresh the page, the quicktime files play.
