OT: Why are the SCS forums so freak'in slow?

Why are the SCS forums so freak'in sloooooow? It's about the same in FF-5 and IE-9, so I don't think It's my browsers.. and it's been excruciatingly slow for quite a while.
It's not my connection because everything on the web is snappy.

Yes, but what is the actual speed? Meters available on the web often indicate that the delivery speed is a fraction of that claimed.
