Yes, for the $$ this would be worth while. You won't see a big kick in interactive use but renders will rock. My 3ghz P4 was 5 years old and over the years getting very cranky. I never reloaded the operating system like others do. Just make sure the video card and other things are what you are comfortable with. I passed on several systems because of the video card. I didn't like the 6150.

Wow that's great news considering I paid 4 or 5 times more than that for my current system.
As for the video card, you're right a lot of complaints on google but seem to be all from gamers (which as I recall Vegas doesn't utilize the card much...but then again I'm "recalling" this from long ago).
I'm currently using an old dual monitor NVidia GeForce4 MX440.
Couldn't I add that and actually have a 3 monitor set-up?
