The copyright aspects of youtube, google video etc are baffling. A large number of the videos on youtube violate some sort of copyright issue if persued. Just the number of lip sync'g or background music alone. I think it is all a big scam because if there were only movies that were 100% "legal" less would watch and the ad dollars would drop. Youtube and google is knowingly promoting copyright infringement IMHO.
Interesting after every UFC fight the videos posted are immediately flagged and pulled off, yet the Ocsar de la hoya fight is still up. Then there are stories of a person who uploaded 1000 clips of there vintage rolling stones bootleg tapes, they were banned with no warning.
Don't get me wrong, I think its great and I am thankful for all the criminals that do this..;^)
It is baffling as to what is banned and what isn't, however, I must give YouTube major kudos, as they host my video podcast every week (http://www.neo-fight.tv). You can find it on You-Tube by searching for Neo-Fight.tv.
They host every episode for me, and there's no way I could offer the show to as many people, as the bandwidth costs really mount up for a video podcast.
I'm willing to accept their quirky and vague copyright rules in exchange for free bandwidth...
Best,
Benjamin

Interesting that C-Span just forced youtube and ifilm to remove Colberts Bush roast for copyright reasons, but they let it stay on google video. Some say thats because google is in beta and not on the google site, but supposedly C-Span is currently working a deal with google.
I think they are using the posted videos to test "new" software that can scan video for copyright infringement. What better way to test your programs than all of the people in the world posting everything imaginable. What a fantastic source of test data.
