OT: Youtube stops using Flash player, goes HTML5

I just noticed that Youtube says 'HTML 5 player' instead of 'Flash player'.

"YouTube's video pick spells doom for Adobe Flash"

Here you can still choose which standard you want to use for your browser:

I wonder if the Vegas render template for Youtube would change by this?

Not sure if they are still using H.264 for the HTML5 player.

Try switching the player standard, the video of the HTML5 version looks and sounds more cleaner even at 360p.

Rendering is nto affected, since Youtube always reencodes your video.

I've heard recently Upload to youtube option was failing for random users, but I think it's not connected to this

Failed for me three times in the last two days. :/

I've had a strong dislike for Flash since Adobe took over. I get crashes, freezes, full screen issue, etc. with flash. I'm happy something is replacing it.

Sounds like a welcome move to me, considering how many Android devices i have that won't play flash videos.

Android devices too? I thought only Ipad had that problem.
Have you tried installing the flash plug-in?

The Play Store and Adobe both tell me that there is no flash player plugin for Android.

Strangely enough, i can watch videos using the youtube app, so apparently that app supplies what's necessary. But whatever it is that it supplies it doesn't carry over to the browser.
