Other 360 Reframing plug-ins for Vegas Pro?

bryan-quarrie wrote on 6/19/2022, 5:38 AM

Hi,

As the title suggests really.

The reason being that I’ve exhausted the Tiny Planet plug-in to death 😂😂😂.

For the time being I use the Qoocam Studio 2 app that I can run outside of Vegas, but the workflow could be better as far as it’s concerned.

Any suggestions, free or paid?

Cheers

Here’s my latest planetoid adventure (Done using Tiny Planet plugin on vegas)😂.

The Qoocam app differs in that you can make transitions between different projections as well, i.e. Flat, Tiny Planet, as well as making very detailed adjustments to parameters such as roll, yaw, radius, field of view etc, whereas the Tiny Planet plug-in limits you to latitude, longitude and zoom only. Finally you can have the video appear to pivot around a “focused” part of the frame (if that makes sense), giving the impression that it was shot from a drone while focusing on a particular element in the video like points of interest etc. I’ll upload an example of this effect later.

The big downside of the Qoocam app is that you can’t save “project files” - In other words once you have spent ages making keyframing changes to the video your ONLY option is to render the result 🙁. Just imagine how it’ll feel if a crash happened…

Apart from that (and as long as you’re willing to do your keyframing in one session), the Qoocam app is capable of amazing results. I’m after a vegas-compatible plug-in that compares to that.

😀👍🏾

Nice video.

I haven't tried, but believe you can do something similar using a combination of the Scene Rotation and Tiny Planet FX---assuming these can vary with time. I assume they can, but haven't tried. Hopefully, someone else will comment on this.

With Scene Rotation OFX placed before Tiny Planet OFX, yes, they can work together where each is own keyframe timeline.

It's just a bit complicated to do back and forth between those two OFX, but it works.

I'm currently using Insta360 studio workflow, and that application capable of saving the keyframes and allow multiple 'alternatives' of output (not just Fish Eye / Tiny Planet mode)

Thanks @set, @3d87c4.

I’ll give the scene rotation plug-in a go 😀.

Meanwhile, this clip is the one I did in Qoocam Studio and wouldn’t mind seeing something like this in Vegas:
