Out Of Memory?

I have a windows 7 computer, about 1TB hard drive space and 8 GB Ram.

When trying to render a video to any format I get the message "The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory by closing other applications"

I have followed all the recommendations at
https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1155

I have no other applications running and I have 4GB of free memory available when I get this error.

Depending on the format I'm rendering it to, it could give me this error, immediately, or half way into the render.

What model of camcorder and format of video are you editing?

And which project properties are you using in Vegas to do it?

Out of memory issues are most often caused by either using incompatible video/project settings or by making slideshows out of photos larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.

Search here for 64 bit fix....allows VMS to access more than memory on 64 bit systems.

I too have found this to be a consistant problem. As a test I stopped ALL background programs and still got the low memory warning error. What I discovered is the problem seems to be related to what you did in VMS prior to attempting rendering. My solution which always works is to save my work, shut down VMS, restart it and go right to rendering.I have a Windows 7 "gadget" which monitors my memory usage. It showed that when I got the low memory warning from VMS my actual available memory was fine (i.e. I recorded the available memory at the time of the warning, shut down VMS, restarted it and ran a successful render while monitoring available memory). I know this is a work around but until someone gives a better explination it is doable.

This may be due to a memory leak. When I used to run on a computer with Windows 7, 8 gb RAM, NVIDIA graphics card, and Movie Studio HD Platinum 10, I would get that error.

Saving, closing, and then re-starting the computer before starting over would always resolve the problem.

Now I'm running with an I7 processor, 16gb RAM, VMSHD Plat 11, etc, and never see the problem.
