out of sync video and audio

I am using the Demo version of Vegas 4.0 and am having trouble rendering to AVI format. My audio and video run in sync within Vegas but are out of sync after I render them and play back with Windows Media Player. Any suggestions?

Try encoding at lower bitrate settings?

thanks for the tip. I changed the sample rate from 48k to 44k and it locks up. I am having another problem though, i get this anoying buzz/pop sound about every 3 to 4 seconds. Any other ideas. thanks again. nate
