Paint effects

There is a plug-in for Paint Shop Pro called Virtual Painter which "converts" stills into excellent artistic painted images. It has a range of pre-sets which usually give good results but these can be changed if you don't like the original effect. Question: is there a plug-in for Vegas out there as simple to use that can do the same for video? Or even a stand-alone programme? I downloaded a trial of Combustion 3 but it looks like I'd have a pretty steep learning curve. I know of Synthetik Studio Artist which uses pre-sets but this is for Mac OS and QT movies but is there anything for pc?

Check out this thread

There is a LOT of good info here and be sure to check out Johnny Mac's demo. Of course this produces a lot of still images but depending upon your need may be a cheap alternative to Combustion, Studio Artist, etc.

Thanks for the thread. One problem though, I can follow most of Johnny Mac's guide but I've never exported frames from Vegas and I'm not familiar with using scripts. Are there any tutorials out there on exporting clips or, even better, a source of available scripts that perform that task?

Be sure to check out the embedded text file describing all script functions. Your manual will have you using scripts in no time.

BTW, another excellent site. http://www.blue7media.com/vegas/
