PAL support

- Have I overlooked something or is the timeline always 29fps?
- I work a lot with scanned photo's. TV resolution is pretty poor to say the least, so would I gain something from trying to use a HD setting in Vegas? If yes, could you please add PAL HD support in both Vegas and DVDA (or would you suggest 24p)?

Thanks in advance,
Yveske

In properties set the PAL rate and frame size in Vegas.
I can see WMV templates for PAL "HD" even though that is an oxymoron!
4.0c?

Most of your question is directed at Vegas, of course.

SD 25p in DVDA wouldn't be a bad thing, you can approximate it with 50i and trust in the display technology. Not many DVD players support true 25p PAL either and those that do are for the elite and bourjois! HD-DVD isn't a decided format yet, two or three techniques are available, all with licensing restrictions (and no player support).

I've chosen new and set it to PAL 720x576, 25fps
I've brought in a mpg file (DVDA says PAL 720x576x32)
I've double clicked on the icon
In the timeline I see 00:00:29

Thanks for your time

I asked SOFO some weeks ago why the PAL timeline end at 29 instead of 25 (If you step through you will see that there are 25 fps and that some numbers are "skipped"). They replied that it was a "bug" and that it (most likely) will be fixed in a future update.
