Pan/Crop Boundaries -- Can't Move Beyond

I place a still on the first track. I want to pan it all the way from the left to right side of the video frame. However, the still is fairly large, so I enlarge the frame in the pan/crop box to make it smaller. However, once I do this, Vegas limits how far left/right and up/down I can move this enlarged box. Therefore, I cannot make my still move all the way to the edge of the frame. I guess I could change the resolution of the still before importing it into Vegas, but is there another way?

I assume you want your still image to move from one edge to the other?

If so... You might want to use track motion instead. I believe it's more practical for the "effect" you want to get. I had done this kind of motion "effect" before, on both still image and video event and track motion was a perfect tool. What's more you can scale your still image bigger or smaller and position it anywhere using keyframes.

Your best bet is to resize the stills. Video is 720x480, I try and keep my stills below 2000x1500 and I have no problems. If yours are much bigger than that you might want to scale them down. If your image editing program cannot automate this task in batch mode, you might want to consider a program like DCE AutoEnhance ($35) by MediaChance, which is not only an excellent batch image enhancer but will batch resize by percentage or fixed amount. Download the trial version and check it out. I own three (3) of their products and they are all execllent.

For a third option, try just typing in the number in the text boxes.

Track motion looks like the only thing that works. This means I'll have to create a new track for every image. This is a pain in the neck way to go.

Actually, I just tried track motion and I can't get it to create any keyframe points. I'm using a beta of 4.0d, so perhaps there is a bug?
