pan/crop default size

Aloha...

I'm working with a widescreen project that is entirely made up of photos. I'm using the pan/crop to move over the images. It will ultimately be shown on a widescreen for a funeral.

My question is, how do I change the default size when I go to pan/crop window? When I right click on my image in the timeline, I would like for the default size to be the 16:9 widescreen setting. Any way of doing this?

Mahallo,

Tony

By default it fits the entire picture on screen (making fit by longest dimension). The "widescreen" preset just forces the pan/crop ratio to be 16:9, cutting off stuff that doesn't fit that resolution (so if the picture is too tall, it will cut off the top/bottom to make the left/right fit the screen.

If you project is set to widescreen then what you see in the preview window will be the output. If you're adding black bars to a 4:3, then you'll just need to make sure the picture is viewable in the bars.

So, if you want the entire picture to be seen on screen, i'd recomend NOT setting it to 16x9. All that will do is cut off some of the picture. I'd recomend customizing each picture to the way you want it to look with the pan/crop.
