Pan/Crop-enable z axis rotation

SquareBob wrote on 8/17/2010, 3:59 PM
I must be getting feeble in my old age. I'm pretty sure on a project some time ago I was able to invoke a variation of the pan/crop window to rotate the image or text in all three axis. I think it may have been a keyboard shortcut but can't recall how to do this. Could someone please instruct me on this. I promise I will write it down this time.
Thanks
Bob

Pan/Crop doesn't have a z-axis (unless you mean zoom in/out) so you have to use Track Motion for this.

Thanks Mike, No wonder I couldn't find it by searching; I was looking in the wrong places.

Yeah . . The best way to consider Pan/Crop, and its spawn, is to regard it as the way "Directors" or DoPs(?) put their fingers/hands through that acrobatic, inverted Framing kinda way. If you remeber that then I get a good reference as to what I expect from P/C.

Isn't the rotation ability in Track Motion the same as in Pan/Crop?

In pan/crop you can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. That is all I see in Track Motion too, unless I am missing a 3D feature.

Dave, in Track Motion you have to change the composite mode from Source Alpha to 3D Source Alpha.

Is that only available in the version 10 Platinum Plus Production suite? I have Movie Studio HD Platinum version 10.

hiker, unless I'm mistaken, that option is only available in Vegas Pro and not any of the Movie Studio versions.
