Pan/Crop keyframe question

Suppose I have a typical comic strip image on the timeline and I want to pan from one pane to the next. I draw the box around the first pane and it looks good. I leave it on hold so the viewer can read the stuff in the pane. But for the next pane, how can I make it so that it pans to the next pane after so many seconds, and then holds there. And so on.. I can only figure out either how to hold it so that the panes appear like a slideshow, one appearing after the next. If I select any of the other options, then it pans the whole time. So I need it to pan, then hold, then pan again.. Is this possible?

Say it was only 2 panels for brevity, and you want to hold panel 1 still for 10 seconds, 2 seconds for transition, and then panel 2 for 10 seconds.

Place the comic strip on the timeline. Stretch it to 22 seconds (10 + 2 + 10)

Put a keyframe at time zero. Zoom into the first panel.

Put a keyframe at time 10

Put a keyframe at time 12. Zoom to the second panel.

So you make a copy of the first keyframe and place it at 10, and instead of hold, you pick some other one like smooth or fast. I get it now, thanks!
