pan/crop tool : move/rotation acts in opposite way to as expected

Hi,

I may be missing something basic here, but I'm trying to move /rotate

a still image (png) of an arrow. I use the pan/crop tool, but the image seems to travel in the opposite direction to my mouse movement, which is the opposite way as to what I expect. Is there a setting I'm missing?

I can get the image to move more as I'd like it but only by flipping it horizontally and/or vertically.

I've made a short screen capture video to demonstrate what I mean.

Thanks!

This is the way it works. Pan/crop is not PIP FX, or trackmotion.

Pan/crop is for cropping an image (video) so that you keep the usfeul part. However, it is possible to make such animated movements, if you have "stretch to fill " enabled. If not, then it really just crops...

You could try track motion too, as well as the new PIP FX in effects, maybe you are looking for something that those provide.

Thank you, @klt. I will explore your other two avenues. I am new to Vegas and very grateful for your answer! Cheers!

You're welcome 😉

BTW, to avoid confusion: track motion is not motion track ;)

Great! PIP FX was exactly what I wanted. Thanks! 😁
