Pan/Crop: unwanted keyframe - how to avoid?

When I pan/crop the video for an event, I often don't notice that the timeline cursor position is not at the start of the event. As a result, when I make the desired pan/crop settings Vegas (Pro 11) adds a keyframe at the cursor point. So when I play the timeline, the event isn't panned/cropped at the beginning. Instead it gradually changes to the panned/cropped size as playback approaches the keyframe. This would be good and is the expected behavior of keyframes IF I actually wanted a change in the pan/crop to occur part way through the event. But I usually don't -- I usually want the pan/crop to apply to the entire event.

Is there a way to tell Vegas not to create a keyframe when making pan/crop settings, regardless of where the cursor is in that event, and just apply the pan/crop to the entire event?

Or do I just have to remember to make sure the timeline cursor is at frame 1 of the event when I do a pan/crop? (Sounds easy, but somehow I often forget.)

There's a button at the bottom of the keyframe section that synchs the keyframe cursor to the timeline cursor. Unselect it and the keyframe cursor will default to the beginning of the event.

Thanks Byron. That does it! You have saved me from a lot of rework.

I am trying to use pan/crop in Vegas pro 22 just to resize a video (zoom in a little) on the timeline. I don't want to use keyframes or animation. I merely want the image "zoomed in" slightly. I have always used pan/crop to do this by dragging one of the handles to increase or decrease the size of the image. But now, regardless of where I place the cursor, it will place a keyframe and there will be animation (zooming in) but I only want to remain zoomed in without animation. How do I simply turn this feature (keyframe) off completely and just use pan/crop merely to adjust the image size. It does not seem to be working the way it always did in the past.

To me Arnold's problem looks identical to that in the first post of this thread?
