pan tilts stuttering on rendering..

Well, i finally got my first commissioned video job. Client is happy with the result but i am seeing a problem.
The footage is from a Sony V1 good old HDV 1080 50i (pal land) and rendered out as progressive 25p for Vimeo. I used the MC render encoder, with a setting of 10Mbps and average 5Mbps. Result file is AVC mp4.
While playing, i am seeing quite bad stuttering on pans and tilts. Not just the normal 25p flicker you would expect, its worse than that. Fortunately, no complaints - but i want to get this smoother.
I am sure in the past, i have had no problems like this, this seems to have happened just on this project. In the past, the rendering out from HDV interlaced to Prog was always prefect. So i am missing something here!

I use Aero on both my desktops and have the problem. Perhaps a disabling it can help. I'll check this out.

I do not have Aero turned on, but in Chrome,it pans smoothly. In Firefox and IE the video stutters. Chrome is a bit further along in HTML5 integration, but Firefox is still using the QT plug-in. And we *all* just think so highly of QT.

But, since you can't control your end-user browser short of hosting your video on a streaming server that doesn't re-encode your video. But that would be very expensive.

Jerry, it played fine with VLC, DivX player and Media Player Classic. Very slight stutter with QT player. Horrible stutter with Firefox.

With my clip on my PC I turned off Aero - no change, still stutters.

Ok, here is a clip that for me exhibits a smoother fast pan in Chrome (HTML5 player) and IE10 (Adobe Flash player). Take a look at the segment from 1:36-1:47. The video was shot at 48fps, but I'm not yet sure how it was rendered except I'm pretty sure it has to be 30fps after Vimeo finishes with it. I've asked the videographer how it was rendered and if they did anything special for smoother pans on Vimeo. Does it also look smooth for you?
