I'm looking for a good program that can do good pan/zoom on still pics. Does this work well in Screenblast? I want to be able to pan, then zoom, then move to another place on the still pic then pan out. Something like that. Can Screenblast do this?
Screenblast Movie Studio can do this very well, but not in one smooth step. Each event on the timeline can only have a starting and ending position defined. This is easy to work around though. Split the picture up into three distinct events on the timeline. In the first event zoom in from the full picture to a smaller area, then in the second event start at that smaller area and pan to somewhere else, then in the last event zoom out from the second area to the whole picture again. Using this method you could of course have as many pans and zooms on a single picture as you wish. You can even combine pan and zoom in a single movement, but any time you want the movement to change you'll have to start a new event.
Yes it can. You may need to use multiple images of the slide that you are working with and use presets to start on the second and subsiquent images where the other image ended.
If you want to do this all in one smooth step then take a look at Vegas 4. It’s a lot more expensive than Screenblast (and does a whole lot more than just pan/zoom) but it allows any number of keyframes and thus any number of camera movements on a single picture.
If all you want to do is slideshows, this software is probably the easiest out there: http://www.picturetotv.com/. I like the added flexibility that MS 3.0 gives you, but MemoriesOnTV is certainly a good program. A trial is available.
For whatever reason, my presets don't "take." When I enter a name into the field (replacing "Untitled"), and click on the "Save" (diskette) button, the name field just goes blank. The drop-down list of presets doesn't change -- it just has "Default" and four aspect ratio presets.
Any idea what's causing this? I'm running WinXP Home.
