Panasonic P2 MXF audio problem with Compound IO Plug -- Vegas Pro 21

Tommy-Winters wrote on 5/22/2024, 2:13 PM

Hello,

It seems, for me, the new "compound io plug" isn't working with P2 MXF files. Audio is read in but is skipping. In all versions of VP21 including new Build 315. mxfP2 IO plug works fine in all versions of VP20. Also, all audio tracks/channels are loaded despite settings. These things all worked properly until VP21. Please advise or fix asap.

Thank you.

Could you share a sample file for testing?

All channels loading seems to be intentional post build 300.

Hi Roger,

Sent you a link in a PM. Support is on the issue as well.

Thanks for responding.

Interesting. I also see strangely garbled audio in VP 21.315. If support doesn't get back to you please let me know.

I'm having the same issue. P2 clip audio plays fine in VP20. The only difference I noted was VP20 reports audio as MXF and VP21.315 says LPCM. Any updates?

Hello. I last heard from support in early June. Advised me to check a single driver, (Realtek High Definition Audio) no joy, then closed the ticket. The issue persists.

Hmmm. I'm still using my Echo Audio Layla 3G PCI audio interface that hasn't had a driver update in years. It has worked with countless VegasPro versions and updates in the past. I just submitted a support ticket as well. I'll let you know what I hear.

Awesome. Thank you.

Just FYI, P2 Audio is working correctly (at least for me) in VegasPro 22 Trial.

Hi David,

That’s fantastic. I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the info.

Hello. I am sorry to report that with a fresh install, via update, to Vegas Pro 22 (Build 93), I am still experiencing the same issues with Panasonic P2 MXF audio files. Garbled, skipping. The "mxfP2 IO plug" is now missing from the io folder. The program is now however, only pulling in one, two channel, stereo track as desired. Disappointed to say the least.
