I have a agdv1000 , dont know if its the same,950 hrs so far, only problem with it is getting it serviced,, had to change the powersupply ,was a pain finding a repair center,, in the states panny does not do the repairs themselves on this deck ,they refer you to local shops, the ones I called didnt give me a feeling they knew what they were doing. We bought a service manual frm panny for $50.00 and changed it ourselves.
It's the Panasonic NV-DV 10000 .. .not the AG-DV1000 . .. . . nor the AG-DV2000 . . .. .
Q - It says it records and plays back in 12-Bit Stereo . . My Canon XM2 records in 16 Stereo. Will I be loosong out in any way? It would appear the 10000 would not reproduce or playback the higher audio definition?
Grazie, I have the Panny and I use 16bit in my Sony camera and all has worked. The lights on the right of the panny gives you the audio type. !6 or 12 it works OK mate....
Perhaps you can answer a question for me on the panny. I asked last year with no results. When capturing from the Panny to V4 does you TC go in spurts as opposed to continues, if I capture form the Sony camera it is continues but the Panny seems to send in spurts ??
I might point out that DV doesn't truly encompass timecode, DVCAM however from what I know does. This might to some extent explain what's going on. Or maybe Panasonic have a slightly different spin on how to implement / read it.
Thanks Cheemie . . I've now done some truly anally retentive Waveform Comaprisons .. just because I can . . and yes, I can't see/hear a difference.
The Panny Spurting thing? Well, from my miniDV cammie Canon XM2 I also get these "spurts" of capture . . PTT doesn't. - So farss may very well be on the money - thanks farss . .!
Cheemie, QUESTION: How do I set up a monitor option when I Print From Timeline to the PAnny? What wiring do you use? I've also "posted" hereabouts the need to have too "disconnect" the Panny otherwise I can't get External Monitor to play nicley? Or play at all!!
