Parent-/Childlayer Trackanimation

Hi

I dont understand, why my Parent-/Child Trackanimations do not work. I did not used it for a long time now. But i remember clearly that in SONY Vegas it still worked.

What exactly i mean is easy. If i used the trackanimations of the Parent-Layer every associated Childlayer moved to. Now pretty much nothing is happening anymore. Only if i change the compositing mode something is going on.

I attached 2 screenshots in here. The light blue background is the child-track, the dark blue one is in the parent-track. As you can see, neither changing position and size of the parent layer nor the video track curve visability has any effect on the child.

And i am asking now myself, what for is the Parent-/Child composing if you cant change the position ans size and visability curve of multiple tracks at once? Or let me question the other way arround, what can i do with Parent-/Child composing anyway?

If the pictures are not showed (even after multiple tries of uploading it directly here):

You missed to tell which version and which build of Vegas Pro you use. This kind of parented Track Motion works fine here with Vegas Pro 16 build 361.

You are absolutely right.
I tried Parent-/Child composing in Vegas Pro 14 also, but cant tell if there was the problem about something else.
NOW i have Vegas Pro 16, Build 361
I have installed it on a fresh Windows 10 OS, pretty much only for Editing, because for some reason, Vegas Pro runs better on Windows 10. So i never had any other version installed on this at all.

@eikira,

Is there a chance you actually move the parent tracks trackmotion, but not the parent motion?

You are most welcome. Don't feel stupid, the only stupid thing is not to ask for help in trouble. 😁
