Parhelia Support lacking?

Spot, you mentioned that there was a lack of support for the Matrox Parhelia in a very recent post.

Since I just stumbled across this, and was seriously considering it, can you illuminate the topic a bit. HOW is it not supported?

Are the 450 and 550 fully supported?

By the way, I looked at those Appian Graphic 4/8 head cards you mentioned. They cost more than my whole computer setup. Boy, fancy is expensive!

I can't tell you about the Parhelia---but I do know that the 450 and 550 are supported---I use the 550 and it runs flawlessly-----(of course I fire wire out to my external NTSC)

The Matrox Parhelia isn't supported in that to use the external monitor abilities of the card, specific drivers are called for. The Parhelia is a dual head PLUS external monitor card, or "3" head card. The 450/550 are absolutely fine, because they are standard AGP cards with standard Windows drivers that aren't application specific. The Parhelia works fine w/Vegas, it's just that you won't have the external monitor ability straight from the display graphics card, you'd still need to use the firewire/converter method.
