Easiest way is to re-capture the tape as a AVI-DV file then split it up in Vegas and THEN render out each clip as a seperate MPEG file. Sounds like you kind of did things backwards.

use mpeg-vcr and edit the clips without re-encoding ...

if you convert them to dv and then reencode them back to mpeg -- you will lose tonnes of quality ...

I meant re-capture from the original tapes..not re-encode from the MPEG.
