I have mentioned in another thread that I can not render MPEG2-PAL DVD-CBR in V5.0d and V6.0a. THe render stops at around 200Mb with an an error message that 'the nature of error could not be determined. The same file renders fine if I use V5.0b.
During many test sessions, I uninstalled 5.0d and reinstalled 5.0b. The render problem reappeared. I deleted the shared plug-ins directory, reinstalled v5.0b and render to MPEG2 worked again.
So I decided to do it the otherway round.
I copied the shared plug-ins>File format directory from V5.0b to V5.0d. BTW V5.0b and V5.0d are on different PCs.
Now V5.0d renders to MPEG2 fine.
I am not having much success trying this out with V6.0a because at this stage V6.0a has not got the render as>MPEG2 option.
I could try and reinstall V6.0a trial version and see if that works.
Can anyone figure out why replacing files with a previous version fixes the problem?
