partial rendering

I am using VideoFactory2, and having great fun....
How do I render my 1 hour project except the last 10 mn which I moved away about 5mn to the right of the time line (so it doesn't touch the main project)
I read to select the RENDER LOOP REGION ONLY, if I want to render a portion of my project....page 57 step 6, of the manual....
Question #1 how do I do a loop region?
Question #2 once loop done, I don't want this 50mn repeated in the rendering....so how is the loop broken?
Question #3 If I render several projects, can I bring them back and create a project using all these rendered portions....or some of them?
Thanks

Selecting a loop region couldn't be easier - left click any of the audio or video tracks where you want to start rendering then drag right (keeping the mouse button down) until you reach the point you want to stop. Let go of the button and you're done. You might find it easier if you zoom out on the time line first.

Don't worry about looping; the render will stop at the end of the highlighted section. It's called a loop region because you can make the preview loop through it - handy if you're fine tuning effects.

Once you've rendered something, be it an entire project or a tiny region, you can use the output just like any other piece of video media. If you're looking for some way for VF to manage hierarchies of projects, it can't do it.

Thanks IanG. As long as I can get these rendered portions on the media pool, I should be happy.... when I find out how to do this....
There is my next week-end project....
Thanks again....

OK, let's assume you've selected the bit you want to render. Click "Make Movie" and "Write your movie to file on your disk". The first thing you specify in the next window is the location you want to put your output file. This is also where you specify you just want to render the loop region. Once the render's finished, go to "Import media" in the media pool and you can select the video you just made.
