Particles Illusion plugin doesn't give but 1 (one) option under BCC.

Caitanya wrote on 3/30/2021, 3:18 PM

I bought Vegas Pro18 Suite on 01/04/2021. I went through the complicated downloads and registration on Windows 10, a brand new computer. Under the BCC Particle Illusions I have ONE (1) choice, a default. I watch videos where they have all the Boris plugin options working in Vegas Pro and have even more options than the standalone version. And I get watermarks for some of the other effects that came with the program, so how are they no longer supported?. Can anyone help fix this issue, or at least explain why it won't work? Thanking you in advance for your help.

Is this a duplicate post?

Particle Illusion IIRC, that was offered with Vegas was the standalone. I could be wrong and someone will correct me. But you have to look at your email and read what you actually bought and see if it is the plugin or the free standalone version.

And of course all the other plugins that come with Boris Continuum 2021 will cost you money to remove the watermark. That package alone costs more than Vegas Pro, so it certainly won't be included. During the installation of Particle Illusion you chose to install all the plugins even though they are not registered, so you have the watermark. To remove the watermark, you have to pay for the plugins.

You need to learn how to use Particle Illusion in VEGAS Pro.

This came in the email. It had info for the Standalone Version too.

Boris Continuum Complete is a comprehensive package comprising some 20 'Units'.

https://borisfx.com/products/continuum/?collection=continuum&product=continuum#features

Vegas Pro 18 Suite offers only 3 of those Units: Film Style, Restoration and Particle Illusion. And it is only those 3 Units for which you have licences. You do not have licences for any of the other 17 Units unless you were to purchase licences for other Units from BorisFX or buy the entire BCC (complete).

And I get watermarks for some of the other effects that came with the program, so how are they no longer supported

As @lan-mLMC recommends, remove the unlicenced BCC Units from your computer so that the FX within those Units do not appear in Vegas Pro and thus remove the watermark issue.

It's not that they are 'no longer supported', its simply that with your Vegas Pro 18 Suite purchase, you got a licence for three Units only, not the entire package (which costs $695.00 USD for a new perpetual licence for the OFX version).

BTW, with Particle Illusion, make sure that you also download and install the free Particle Illusion Particle Emitters unless you have already done so:

Hi,

Can anyone confirm whether it is the standalone or the plugin version of Particle Illusion that comes bundled with the current Vegas upgrade? It says standalone but also says that you will be sent a serial number which the standalone doesn't normally require. Thanks!

Please see the Vegas Pro comparison chart:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/product-comparison/#productMenu

The Boris FX Continuum Particles Unit (v2020.5) only comes with a purchase of the Vegas Pro 18 Suite - it does not come with Vegas Pro Edit or Vegas Pro.

For information about the Particles Unit, please see that Unit's product page on BorisFX's website at

https://borisfx.com/products/continuum-units/particles/?collection=continuum-units&product=continuum-units-particles

... but keep in mind this relates to the 2021 version of that Unit whereas the version offered with Vegas Pro 18 Suite is 2020.5 - not that there should be too much difference between the two versions for this Unit.

Boris Particle Illusion 2021 Standalone is free from BorisFX to anyone regardless of which NLE they use (though a BorisFX account is required in order to download it).

If you bought the Vegas Pro 18 Suite and the serial numbers for all the addons such as the 3 BorisFX Continuum Units included in the Suite package have not been given in the purchase confirmation email from MAGIX which would have given you the Vegas Pro 18 Suite serial number, you'll need to contact MAGIX via the (convoluted) support process via https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/interview/ (Order/Delivery/Payment option) or at infoservice@magix.net

Hi @Dexcon,

Thanks for your message. I know that Particle Illusion is normally only included with the Suite version but this is the first time I've seen it mentioned as a free addon you click with purchase on the upgrade site. Maxon wrote me saying "This would appear to be a plug-in so we would say it is the plug-in edition of this product." It also states as serial number would be provided which isn't normally required for the standalone. It would be nice just to have it confirmed either way by someone who recently upgraded a version of Vegas other than Suite.
