Okay, but to be fair, that's only because Vegas Movie Studio Platinum is currently on sale.

After September 25, the top of the line versions of both programs will cost the same -- $129.99.

But is it twice as good?

Depends on what you understood by "as good". Some parts of PD18 are triple as good, some twice as good, some equal, some less. I use both VMS and PD, but at the moment I prefer PD, mainly for it's stability, possibilities, speed and ease of use.

Well. VKmast check prices weekly, I don't think that VMS16P is ever "out of sale" .

On the face of it VMS16P for $130 is well overpriced and makes PD18 better value.

What is PD 18? I tried to look this up, but no success.

Cyberlink PowerDirector, Version 18.

Combination of timelinebehaviour and FX of VMS with possibilities, renderspeed and stability of PD would make the perfect NLE.

Thanks for the response. I thought that PD 18 was part of the Vegas family, but it's not. I guess that's why I couldn't find information about it.
