pdf or vector text in Vegas

I have a pdf document I would like to use in Vegas Pro 8. I would like to zoom in very tight and pan around the characters.

I have tried two solutions so far:

A: The flash approach. I used pdftoswf to convert to a swf file. After changing the flash version number to 3 Vegas allowed me to import the file. However the pdf seemed to be rendered as a bitmap within the flash file and so zooming in produced pixalization.

B: Photoshop Elements. I can import a pdf and render as a big bitmap.

Does any one have any other ideas? The last is a solution but not the best.
Thanks

No, as far as I know Vegas will only work with rasterised images so B is your best shot. If you can make the image large enough and render at Best it should be OK. If this is only going to be a small section of your final video one trick I found eased the pain is to do your zooms and pans in one project and nest that into your main project.

How about using something akin to Camtasia and capture a Zooming in and Zooming out session in Acrobat Reader?

That'd solve the resolution problem but kind of restrict your ability to zoom smoothly and pan or tilt the object.

Simple and free solution would be something like Daz Studio. It'll do vector rendering with 3D camera and lights and probably fog and reflections and all that 3D goodness.

Which reminds me of the first demo drawing I opened in Audocad. A to scale drawing of the solar system that you could zoom in on until you found the lunar lander. Then you could zoom in and read the writing on the plaque. Was all a bit crude back then and today we have that for just about the whole of our galaxy

Sometimes (and I do mean sometimes), you can open a PDF in Adobe IIlustrator. You can then edit the file as a vector document and finally save it as a large bitmap which is brought into Vegas.

If the permissions in the PDF permit opening in Illustrator, it is very successful. I've done it a few times with no apparent loss of quality.

Yup, control would be fixed in Camtasia. DAZ sounds interesting . . . and gets my sheets whiter than white!

I checked that autocad file and they left you out of it. I've lodge a complaint with Autodesk.

you can convert pdf files to image files with acroplot pro.

OT - I would love to complain to autodesk for a host of reasons... there cad products have gotten so bloated and buggy it's amazing the I can stay productive!
