Picture in picture doesn't work and doesn't appear at all

Liorr wrote on 4/29/2019, 11:05 AM

I'm using Vegas Pro 16 with OFX PiP plugin. I want to display simultaneously 2 photos (not videos) at the same time with some motion and effects.

I have placed both photos one above the other on the right tracks and when applying the PiP plugin feature on both of them, I can see only the upper photo while the lower one is not shown at all.

All I can see is the square line around the bottom photo but without the photo itself.

Several days ago it worked fine but now nothing.

Please help me sort this out.

Thanks

@Liorr apply the PIP to the top track, not the bottom.

Thanks Eagle but it didn't work. Still the same problem.

Check this out - The upper right photo is on track 1 and presented but the photo from track 2 is not shown correctly.

I mean the upper left photo (track 1) and the line on the lower right side (track 2) is the second photo

@Liorr 1st I want to make sure you are using the VEGAS Picture in Picture FX, is that correct?

Can you post a screenshot of your entire timeline and viewer please?

If you start a new project and add a clip to track 1 (upper track) and another to track 2, then apply the VEGAS Picture in Picture FX, track 1 should show in the middle of your viewer smaller than the full view, so you see the video from track 2 around the edge area. How does that test look? If it looks normal, then there is something else in your original project that is causing track 2 to show through, like maybe you muted that track.

It appears to me that you still have a Picture in Picture FX applied to track 2 clip and the Opacity has been zeroed.

It almost appears to me that you did first a trackmotion/adjustment and on top of that the PiP Plugin and messed up the ankerpoint. Or you used a preset which you saved yourself but with very wrong attributes to it?

Thanks guys. I appreciate your feedback.

It seems that the entire second track, the one that actually didn't appear in the PiP was muted so nothing could have worked.

Once I've checked the mute box to cancel that, everything worked perfect.

Thanks again for your support.

@Liorr good you got it worked out and back to your project. BTW, I'm sure you know this, but you can stack just about as many PIP tracks as your computer can stand for a verity of PIP windows. Good Luck with your project.
