Picture montage question...

What's the best setting to use for accomplishing a Picture montage for DVD. I'd like to have pictures appear on DVD with good resolution accompanied by music and various transitions.

For example, I'm planning to scan the pictures. What scanning resolution would be best for my goal? What file type should I use?

I would like to know for a wedding anniversary gift I'm planning to make.

Thanks in advance.

well a dvd has a resolution of 720x480

so that would be the resolution of the pictures and the project that i would use

file types dont matter really

it based on how much room you have on your computer

play around with the scanner and see what file gives you the biggest file size

that will probably be the best file format to use to make sure of no compression

I can scan an image and tell the scanner software to save the file with different resolution settings. FOr example, 150x150 to 2800x2800. Obviously the larger one would end up being the larger file.

From what you're saying, it is best to save it closest to the 720x480 mark?

correct

the file size part was that different file formats will have different sizes even with the same resolution
