I am sorry to learn of this development. I never used Cubase, but depend on WaveLab and find that it, like VV, simply always was the best tool of its type, and, unlike most of the Pinnacle stuff I've worked with, I've never encountered problems with WL that would hold up my work.
Interesting article. Actually the mistake Pinnacle has made in the past is buying companies and not keeping the people, thinking that their programmers could incorporate the code into their products. They have learned, the hard way, that the code is meaningless without the creative genius of those who designed it. This is why the Pinnacle code is so buggy. It's beyond the capabilities of their development team to integrate and maintain it.
Why is this a relevant thread?
Because SoFo is selling off part of the company and if the buyers take the development team with the code, then we're all safe. But if the buyers take the code without the people, start looking for another NLE because the quality and innovations that we've come to expect from SoFo will be lost.
