pitch shifting in Vegas 7

I used to shift pitch easily in Vegas 1 but can't figure out how to do it in vers. 7. I want to drop all tracks in a project by 1 octave, but don't understand the "event" instructions in Help.

just select the audio event and hit the - or the = keys to pitch up or down ...
