Placing marks in V5

I have just given v5 demo a run, and ordered V5, In V4 to place a mark you just place the cursor where you want the mark to be then press the t key.
trying out the same function with V5 demo, it doesnt work. I would like to sort out this function prior to getting V5.
Can anyone help in this function

Don't know about the demo, but in the real thing you hit "T" and you've got a Track, static or in playback mode. Hit "I" and you've got an Index.

You must, of course, have a cursor and an event on the timeline ...
