Hi, There,
I love my Movie Studio Platinum 15.0 for over two years, now. I have it installed and running fine on a Windows 7 machine, but am moving all work to a Win10 machine. I've only opened it twice in Win10; once to render an MP3 from a WAV (one of my favorite uses for it, believe it or not) and once to quick-snip excerpts of an MP4 video file.
In both of these cases, the pitch of the audio is decreased. The WAV is a stereo recording of an original song of mine, and by comparing it with a live keyboard, I can hear that Movie Studio Platinum 15.0 is playing back over a half-step down the major scale. (It's playing back below E-flat instead of the recorded key of E.) In the MP4 file, the male speaking voice is noticeably more baritone.
Strange things here:
1) It does not do this on the Windows 7 system. (HP Pavilion -- AMD Phenom II 3Ghz, 8g RAM) It never has.
2) The lengths of these media have not been altered: they both imported to the timeline at their original lengths. It's just that the audio pitch is reduced in both cases.
3) No media files of any sort behave this way in any other application on this machine. All other playbacks, system-wide, are normal. It's only Movie Studio Platinum 15.0 (Build 157) that does this.
I'm working on an HP Elite Desk 800 G1 -- Intel I7 4770 3.4gHz, 16g RAM.
Any ideas? Thanks for reading this.
