play chapter then go to main menu

I am using DVDA3. From the scene selection menu, I want to be able to pick which chapter I want, and I want DVDA to play only that chapter and then link back to the scene selection menu. Everytime I set an in and an out point from one of the chapters, it effects all of my chapters....so no matter which chapter I choose, it plays the same in and out point. In DVDA1 this was so easy but my timeline has no reference to where my chapters are linked to the video. (In DVDA1 there was a green marker to show you where the chapter linked to your video...can't find it in DVDA3). What am I doing wrong or not doing? It seems as if this is not possible to play only selected areas in DVDA3 but I must be missing something. I can link to the chapters, I just cant set specific out points for my chapters...the video just keeps playing till the end.

Thanks
-Jim

You need to have multiple instances of the same movie.

Drag your movie into the project for each chapter you want. Navigate into the first movie instance. On the timeline (in the lower right corner) set your starting position. Hit the I (eye) key on the keyboard. Then position yourself where you want the movie to end. Hit the O (oh) key. Navigate into the next movie instance and repeat.

hi,

i think you must divide you video , and every chapter must be separate file, then you put all files in project ( in menu whit chapters ) and in main menu you put playlist whit all files ot play all.
then in each file end action you can define action when movie end.
But you movies must be >5sec !!!

bye

You are effectively dividing the file by simply creating multiple instances of the movie in the project and setting different in/out points for each instance. as of DVDA2, DVDA was smart enough to only include the movie a single time on the DVD.

adding another instance of my media did the trick.
