playback in preview window is all zoomed in

So I opened a project that I hadn't worked on in month or so and first thing I notice is that the video in the preview window is way zoomed in like it's showing a 1/4 of what it should be. Like a setting got changed or something. Seems like an easy fix but I tried some things relating to preview and can't get it back to normal. Simple adjustment?

Check preview quality settings. If it is at full and your window is not full resolution, it will appear zoomed in.

I checked the pan/crop and the frame is cropped into the top left hand corner in every single event!! Any idea how that could have happened?

Just to be clear, you are seeing a full frame, but the video only shows in the upper quadrant or are you only seeing 1/4 of the frame filling the whole screen?

Does it look that way for earlier versions of the project? You do a Save As periodically, right? If a project file gets corrupted or otherwise messed up, you have earlier versions to fall back to.
