playback stops windows 7, 64bit 9.0e

I am having a strange problem. Running windows 7, with the Vegas 9.0e 64 bit, the slider will not work. While right clicking and trying to drag it just gets stuck. Even more frustrtating is that I cannot get the project to play back. Using the space bar, or by clicking the play button, it only plays for a split second and the stops/stalls. Any one have this problem?

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile.

...the slider will not work.

Which slider are you talking about?

What audio hardware are you using? Are you using Mapper, Wave Classic or ASIO drivers with your hardware?

I have this exact problem when I try to work with Cineform avis that were rendered in Vegas. Cineform avis converted with HD Link work fine. My solution is to use .mxf until Cineform irons this problem out. I also intend to try a Matrox VFW codec mentioned in another recent thread. This may or may not be related to your problem.

It is the timeline slider within the project. You are supposed to be able to click the handle at the top and move it back adn forth. This does not work. I am using the Line 6 tone port UX2 for my audio hardware. Everything worked just fine with windows XP running the 32 bit version of 9.0e. Since I got a new computer about a week ago, with windows 7 and running the 64 bit 9.0e, I have these two problems which are fairly major considering how important it is to continue watching playback while editing.

Timeline slider ? Do you mean the horizontal scroll-bar ? Your timeline window should automatically scroll with playback.

Got the correct 64-bit driver for the Line6, and/or is it as fully-featured as the W32 driver ?
