Playback stutters after removing files

Hi i have a major problem which i really cant get out of! so here's the deal:
I moved some big files from the C partition to the D partition (the same disk), so there would be more freespace on my C drive. But when i started Vegas and hit the play button the sound stutters :'(
I've had this befor but i dont know how i solved it. Now i havent had it for at least 3 months, and now its here again!! after i gained freespace on my C drive!!

My Specs:
AMD Duron 900 mhz, 256 MB RAM, 20GB disk drive, SB128.

Now i have allready tried the following things:

Format C: . i installed everything again, Windows and my applications.
Soundcard in another PCI slot. didnt work.
Defragmentated every partition.
Checked the DMA.
Installed the VIA drivers.
Installed the latest SB128 drivers.
Installed Vegas on different Partitions.
Moved some of the used sound files.
Checked the free RAM with Memory+. Seems fine, over 100 mb free.
Put some files back on the C: so there is only 60 mb left :P (that's what i had when it still worked ok, but no luck)

So the problem is the playback really stutters, all at the same time. I really tried everyrthing but i know that is possible to run vegas with out prblems cause i did it befor!!

Please help cause its really freaking me out after all i've tried to solve it.

Thnx in advance.

you'll probably find it's an issue with a plugin. I've had this problem before, and not nailed specifically what causes it, it seems to be intermittent.

Save your project under a different file name, and start removing all of each type of plugin. If it fails to stop stuttering, put all of those back and take out another... repeat.

Pain in the ass I know. Sometimes it's the only way to recover a session.

Recently it was Waves Linear Phase EQ that did this to me...

thank you god :P can you believe i actually formatted my c drive for this problem! i just deleted all non standard vegas plugins (everything but the 3 you start with), and now its runnin allright again!! But the strange thing is i believe i had the same plugins befor and didnt experience any problems!
But i can get back to work normally now without gettin stressed out :P

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

btw i found out that its the Graphic Dynamics plugin together with the Express Reverb plugin. on 1 channel but i dont know if that mathers. but the Graphic Dynamics alone so with out the express reverb plugin works fine, i guess its the combination.

it seems that its not exactly what was wrong. cause now i cant even use a graphic dynamis and a graphic eq plugin at the same time and that was possible befor :(
so any other suggestions are very welcome!
